Box Office Warehouse Suites in North Fort Worth Holding “Art on a Can” Contest
FORT WORTH, TX, August 03, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ — Box Office Warehouse Suites, owned by RDS Real Estate in the Tarrant County area is hosting a graffiti contest for the sides of its shipping containers. The “Art on a Can” Contest is a celebration of the dynamic energy urban graffiti/street art offered through its craftsmanship and unique beauty with innovative use of shipping containers to connect to our ‘hip’ community.
Leave it to the hippest owner of the hippest business park in Fort Worth to have a contest celebrating graffiti art.
Ron Sturgeon, owner of the first, and only, office warehouse business park in the United States made entirely from shipping containers, has announced the “Art on a Can” Contest.
“Our goal is to showcase graffiti/street art on the new and upcoming Box Office Warehouse Suites, made entirely from shipping containers. It is our desire to show that art and business can connect and connect quite beautifully,” says Sturgeon.
Urban street artists are invited to participate in the “Art on a Can” Contest. Participants will compete for a $1,500 grand prize, with the five chosen artists creating and completing a 7.5’x20′ mural on container walls at the soon-to-be-opened Box Office Warehouse Suites. The contest will be judged by three judges to be decided, and artists need to submit an application by Saturday, October 12, 2017. Contest rules and applications for judges and artists can be found on the Box Office Warehouse Suites website.
In addition, the final mural will be showcased at the “Art on a Can One Day Graffiti Art Festival,” which will be held on March 17, 2018, at Box Office Warehouse Suites, 1953 Golden Heights Road in Fort Worth. The festival will include artisan galleries and displays inside shipping containers, live bands from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., free hot dogs, and food truck vendors.
“This is going to be a huge event,” says Sturgeon. “We are going to rock the local art world with this contest, just like we’re going to rock the commercial real estate world with Box Office Warehouse Suites.”
And don’t bet against Sturgeon’s claim. Ron Sturgeon is the original “rags-to-riches” homegrown Fort Worth story, climbing the ladder from homelessness to being featured on CNBC’s Blue Collar Millionaires, the owner and manager of over one-million square feet of small, multi-use commercial property in Tarrant County and the Alliance commercial real estate area, and the owner of RDS Real Estate, the leading commercial real estate company in North Fort Worth.
