Adopt a Furry Friend in Need at The Graffiti and Street Art Festival in Fort Worth
FORT WORTH, TX, February 23, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ — The North Texas Honda Dealers are proving to be very helpful in the community with their ‘Random Acts of Helpfulness‘ campaign. On March 17th, from 12-4pm, the Helpful Honda People in Blue are teaming up with SPCA of Texas and will be matching adoption fees. This includes adoption fees at all SPCA of Texas locations as well as adoptions that take place at the Graffiti and Street Art Festival. What’s even more helpful than a donation match? They’re also giving a complimentary leash, food bowl and set of doggy bags to new pet parents!
Yes, you read that right, all adoption fees will be matched. If you are wondering what an art festival has to do with pet adoptions, you are in for a treat. Early last year, Box Office Warehouse Suites, a brand-new business park that offers commercial real estate for rent in converted shipping container buildings, announced they would be hosting the Graffiti and Street Art Festival in Fort Worth. Owner of Box Office Warehouse Suites Ron Sturgeon is an animal advocate, and has rescue cavaliers himself. He found it fitting to tie in the festival with his passion for pets and invited SPCA of Texas to be the event’s charity sponsor.
“My King Charles Cavalier Spaniels mean the world to me,” Sturgeon recently explained. “I mean, they have their own social media presence and they pretty much run our household. That’s why it was only natural to name SPCA of Texas as the charity sponsor.”
SPCA of Texas will be at the festival with on-site pet adoptions. Event attendees will have the opportunity to save a pawed friend in need and enjoy a family friendly festival. Registration for Strut Your Mutt will also be available at the festival. As if that wasn’t enough, a dog costume contest will be held and the grand prize winner will receive a basket full of goodies. Pre-registration is not required for the contest, but dogs must be present and in costume to win.
Tickets for this festival are $5 each, kids aged 12 and under receive free admission. Aside from pet adoptions and a dog costume contest, this arts festival will have free food, live bands and entertainment, a street market with local businesses and vendors and giveaways throughout the event. The whole family is sure to be entertained, as kid-friendly activities will be taking place. Hangman’s House of Horrors will be setting up an alien-based survival game, Linda Allen State Farm will be at the festival with free face painting and fun games, and every event attendee will also be contributing to a great cause. The grand prize winner of the Art on a Can Contest will be announced and all 5 finalists will have a painted mural on the side of the shipping container buildings.
100% of the event’s proceeds will be donated to SPCA of Texas, including ticket sales and vendor fees. Honda’s blue team will be on-site to answer any questions you may have regarding the ‘Random Acts of Helpfulness’ campaign as well as providing information of their donation match. The Graffiti and Street Art Festival will be held at 1953 Golden Heights Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76177 from 11 A.M. until 5 P.M.
