So what does an office rental with an attitude look like? That’s a fair question since we’re asking you to consider one. Consider the following, if you will.
The average office rental in the United States is like eating vanilla ice cream. Now we don’t have anything against vanilla ice cream. It can taste pretty darned good along with a piece of apple pie. On a hot day, it will take care of your need for cold, and if you are hungry it will satisfy your hunger. Rent a shop options are severely limited.
But there are better options. This writer’s favorite is peanut butter ice cream, and I know some who swear by strawberry or chocolate mint. Peanut butter ice cream is ice cream with an attitude, and I’m sure you would agree. So, back to the average office rental in the United States, as we were saying, most of them resemble vanilla ice cream; in other words, they meet the requirements and not a whole lot more. There’s a reason for this: developers have a formula when they are constructing business parks. Offices are built with specific measurements, and those measurements are based upon volumes of research all aimed at one thing: maximizing profits with a minimum amount of space and construction costs. It makes sense to the developer. They’re in the business to make money, so they cut costs and trim expenses to maximize their gain. Pretty simple, really, and very understandable. And as long as business owners are lining up to rent those offices, it all works. The developer is happy and those to lease those offices are . . . satisfied . . . like eating vanilla ice cream.
