If you have never considered renting shipping container office space, this article should at least open your eyes to it as an inexpensive alternative to traditional office space for rent. Read on and learn about this exciting new style of office space for lease.
We are Box Office Warehouse Suites, and we know a thing or two about shipping container office plans, with all of our commercial properties for rent made from retrofitted, refurbished, and professionally-designed shipping containers. Call us at 817-439-3224, or 817-903-9438, for more information about shipping container construction and how it can save you money.
What is shipping container construction?
No, we do not construct a shipping container. We take used shipping containers, install insulation, panel the walls, paint them, add partitioning walls where needed, punch out windows and doors, and presto, you have office space. The whole process takes a couple months tops, which is considerably faster and easier than building office space in the traditional post-and-beam method, and because it is faster and easier, it is also less-expensive.
Besides being less-expensive, it is also environmentally-friendly. We are finding a use for discarded and unused shipping containers, but besides that, we are building something without needing cut lumber, which means fewer trees harvested, which means happy environmentalists.
The cost if you were to build one? Used twenty-foot containers can be found, literally, on Craigslist selling for $2000. Used forty-foot containers will run you around $5000. Retrofitting, wiring, plumbing . . . the whole process, from start to finish, will run you in the neighborhood of $30,000-$40,000, which is considerably less than building office space from scratch using traditional building techniques.
Renting a shipping container office? Using Box Office Warehouse Suites as an example, our 40-foot office space units start at $975 per month, again lower than traditional rents for traditionally-constructed office spaces.
Is it a viable alternative for you?
We can’t answer that question. If you live in the Fort Worth area, Box Office Warehouse Suites is most-definitely less-expensive that traditional offices. It is also a funky area, filled with creative business owners who enjoy the novelty and uniqueness of the business park, home to the largest display of graffiti art in all of Texas. But, if you live somewhere other than Fort Worth, and such a business park is not available to you, you are left with constructing your own, and that just might be your cup of tea, or zoning laws in your city may not allow it, or any number of other problems may be in play in your area. Again, we simply cannot answer that question for your particular situation.
But, without a doubt, shipping container office space is an inexpensive alternative, and one many business owners across the country are considering seriously.
