FORT WORTH, TX, November 08, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ — The SPCA of Texas will be on site at the Art-On-A-Can Arts Festival with their mobile adoption vehicle, loaded with furry friends looking for a new home. They will also have an information table where event attendees can learn more about SPCA of Texas volunteer programs, foster programs, and upcoming SPCA events.
The Arts Festival will be held at Box Office Warehouse Suites, the newest commercial offering by local developer Ron Sturgeon, and BOWS boasts as being the first, and only, business park made entirely from shipping containers.
Add to that the fact that all featured art will be street art/graffiti, and you have an event that really must be placed on your calendar, fun for the whole family for sure.
“This is definitely a family affair,” Sturgeon recently said. “Heck, even dogs are welcome. We have loads of fun activities for kids, and adults, we have live music, prize drawings, and we have local craft and art vendors. There are so many reasons to come to this Arts Festival, I don’t know where to start. I just know it will be unlike any festival ever held in the Fort Worth area.”
Strong words for sure, a stronger boast, but when those words, and that boast, come from Ron Sturgeon, people tend to pay attention. This is the same man who scratched and clawed his way out of homelessness to a position of prominence in the auto salvage business, then turned around and did the same thing in commercial real estate as owner of over one-million square feet of small, multi-use properties.
But why street art, and why the SPCA?
“We decided to showcase graffiti because we want our new business park to be modern and funky,” Surgeon answered. “We want it to appeal to a new generation of business people, so why not highlight the art of that generation? And why the SPCA? As many know, I have a few dogs, and they are precious to me. I can’t imagine anyone being cruel to them, and by extension I can’t imagine anyone being cruel to any dog. The fact is, however, that it does happen, so I want the proceeds from this Festival to help the SPCA in their cause.”
The Arts Festival will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 17, 2018; Sturgeon wants to make sure everyone knows dogs are welcome. $5 per person, kids under 12 are free, and all proceeds go to SPCA of Texas.
